This autumn, the Zoo d'Amnéville lights up again with the 4th edition of Luminescences. After taking visitors through magical worlds and then to the heart of Asia, the lantern festival is settling this year in Latin America for a flamboyant experience under the theme of Fiesta Latina.
This new, 100% original edition offers a 1.5 km route dotted with over 10,000 luminous installations, some reaching up to 8 meters high. A spectacular and unique experience to enjoy with family or friends.
From All Saints' Day until spring, young and old are invited to wander at nightfall through a new luminous trail, enhanced by the magic of lanterns and the festive energy of Latin American cultures. From Mexico and its colorful dances, to the lush jungles of the Amazon, the mysteries of pre-Columbian civilizations, the majestic Andes mountains, the marine treasures of the Caribbean, and the explosion of colors of the Rio Carnival, each world is full of surprises and wonder.
As magic goes hand in hand with responsibility, Luminescences is designed in an eco-friendly approach. The lanterns, made with low-consumption LEDs, are reused and re-covered from one edition to the next. The route is developed with the expertise of caretakers, veterinarians, and ethologists to guarantee animal well-being: light adjustments, sound adaptation, and temporary relocation of certain species ensure that the magic of the lanterns always goes together with respect for wildlife.
Good to know
The Zoo ticket automatically includes access to Luminescences. A separate ticket allows you to experience only the lanterns in the evening. The 1.5 km trail features over 10,000 lanterns, some reaching 8 meters in height.
