L’Atelier de Sophie draws the audience’s attention to the actors' performances and stances through the absence of set design, which is its strength. This contemporary theatre is mostly comedic, sometimes burlesque and offbeat, dealing with the theme of gender equality, its progress, and setbacks.
Synopsis: Equality between women and men soon? Five sisters (and a veterinarian), survivors of the former Dominique housekeeping school, taught generations of young girls how to "be a perfect wife and house mistress." This era is over. The school’s closure seemed inevitable, but a miracle occurred, upsetting the established order. Attend this open house event, open to all audiences.
