In 1977, I was 4 years old. A friend of my mother's took my photo in François' garden, my neighbor. I wore my prettiest dress for the occasion, sewn by my mother. My world literally collapsed after my parents separated a year earlier. Alone, left to myself, abandoned by adults torn apart. I built myself up in withdrawal, where I invented an inner world that became my refuge, my secret theater where everything was still possible.
Through this photographic work, I seek to give meaning. I liberate myself from past wounds to take back power over my story, a liberation of what was buried. This work is not an end but a journey, an initiatory passage, a metamorphosis of my identity.
