Being alone on stage is a perilous exercise, without a safety net, requiring a certain taste for risk. Like a tightrope walker, going solo on stage is a challenge, an adventure where you face the void without bearings, starting a journey within. I started performing "solo on stage" at fifteen or sixteen in small places, telling stories and letting myself improvise. It was during a solo concert at the Café de la Gare that my life changed. Solo shows offer great closeness with the audience and a particular intimacy with the songs in their original version. With the group CONTREBAND (Karim Attoumane, Martin Mayer, and Barbara Felletig), the vibe is different, more collective. Solo, the pleasure lies in the unique freedom and emotion of the moment. SOLISSIMO is a different concert, with another repertoire, like a return to the roots.
