Dig Deep Improv is proud to present the "Making Sense" workshop with international guest teacher Kelly Agathos!
We've all been there: stuck in a scene that's going nowhere, desperately searching for ideas to get it going again and break free. But we can do better than just survive! Usually, our scenes aren't stuck for lack of ideas, but because nothing makes sense… *yet*. This workshop will be entirely devoted to justification, the art of answering the question "why" in a scene. Justifying what's already happening—a gesture, a change in tone, a silence, a "mistake"—allows us to give meaning to chance. Instead of adding new information, existing choices become intentional and inspiring.
Through targeted exercises and role-playing scenarios, you will learn to:
- To provide context for physical and emotional choices
- Turning mistakes into strengths - consolidating your platform and relationships by explaining rather than inventing -
- Learn when there is already enough information available.
By the end of this workshop, you will have internalized this simple rule: don't add, explain. Because when every element has its purpose, the scenes appear credible, coherent, and inevitable—for you, your partners, and the audience. Kelly first led a workshop with Dig Deep in 2025, and we are delighted to welcome her back and learn even more from her!
