Personal exhibition by Gianpaolo Pagni.
In 2024, after working with his old school textbooks (biology, shorthand, mathematics), Gianpaolo Pagni presented a new series entitled "Storia dell'arte Italiana" (History of Italian Art) by directly intervening in his own textbook on the history of Italian art by Giulio Carlo Argan. The book, kept since the artist's student days, bears traces of use with annotations, scribbles, and underlinings—marks that testify to past learning. Thirty years later, the artist overlaid his stamp-like drawings on it, creating a surface where student memory and contemporary artistic practice overlap.
