Film screening and discussion following the film "The Price War" (FR)
What lies behind the prices displayed in our supermarkets? Who decides the value of our food and what consequences does the race to the bottom have on producers and farmers?
To better understand these issues, the NGO Fairtrade Luxembourg and FAIRMËLLECH invite you to a film screening and discussion of Anthony Déchaux's film, "The Price War." This social thriller plunges you into the heart of negotiations between large retailers and producers through the story of Audrey, a farmer's daughter who becomes a buyer for a major chain.
Accessible and captivating, the film sheds light on the mechanisms that influence the price of our food and the challenges faced by producers. It offers an opportunity to better understand the workings of a system where the constant pursuit of low prices puts increasing pressure on those who feed us.
Good to know
Following the screening, Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg and FAIRMËLLECH will lead a discussion and Q&A session with the audience. This exchange will allow for a deeper exploration of the issues raised by the film and a reflection on possible actions to build fairer, more resilient, and sustainable food systems.
