From the very beginning of the exhibition, at the entrance to the Grand Hall, visitors discover the new exhibition, which consists of printed texts, documents, and objects in display cases, mechanical devices, audio recordings, films, projections, infographics, and interactive screens. This blend of media allows all audiences to find what interests them. To provide a voice to those who experienced this challenging period, audio testimonies complement each panel of the historical exhibition. These can be accessed using a smartphone via QR codes. While the exhibition mainly follows a thematic approach, two timelines on the ground floor and first floor allow interested visitors to explore the details of history. To put faces to the stories, short biographies help visitors discover men and women who were directly involved. The biographical niches in the Grand Hall, which can be explored before or after the main historical exhibition, use the same approach. In 11 niches, 28 historical figures and 16 current residents of Luxembourg tell their stories as victims, civilians, or actors in history.
