Art Nouveau emerged as a new form of expression, drawing inspiration from nature and reflecting the modern spirit of its era. Bringing beauty into everyday life and revaluing traditional craftsmanship were seen as the foundations for a better world. These questions also shaped Luxembourg, where the Art Nouveau period coincided with the founding of an artists' association in 1893 and the establishment in 1896 of the State School of Artisans, which trained both artists and art craftsmen. Through fascinating and innovative works—mainly from the applied arts field—never-before-exhibited preparatory drawings, and historical photographs, the exhibition explores the Art Nouveau period in Luxembourg in depth for the first time.
