The Cattenom Nuclear Power Plant opens its doors to you - European Heritage Days 2026

On September 19 and 20, 2026, to mark the 80th anniversary of EDF and the 40th anniversary of the Cattenom plant, experience an unprecedented weekend of the European Heritage Days. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the backstage of nuclear electricity production through an immersive guided tour at the heart of the facilities. The tour will begin with an educational conference dedicated to the operation of a nuclear power plant. Participants will then discover the control room simulator before continuing their immersion on the ground. Equipped with a helmet and safety shoes, they will access one of the plant’s four machine rooms and observe its impressive turbo-alternator group, the true engine of electricity production. Free and lasting approximately 2 hours, this tour is accessible to people aged 12 to 75, subject to good physical condition.
