For its new project, the EPO African Trio blends ancestral rhythms and hypnotic grooves from West Africa with Black poetry and dance. Over the sounds of percussion, clarinet, and flute, texts by Caribbean, African, and African American authors are brought to life by actor/performer Otomo De Manuel. The movements of dancer and choreographer Boukson Séré complete this protean tableau, fueled by improvisation and emulation, where each element feeds off the others to offer the audience a total sensory experience.
