Luxembourg between arrivals and departures. The Photothèque of the City of Luxembourg traces the history of tourism in Luxembourg through images, from arriving and strolling through the city to discovering sights and searching for the perfect picture. The photographs also document changes in the city and its visitors, from the first travellers of the 19th century to the growth of tourism after the Second World War. The exhibition also explores how travel practices have evolved in the digital age, with selfies partly replacing postcards, while highlighting the enduring desire for discovery, relaxation and memories. For the first time, the Photothèque also presents photographs by Luxembourgish photographers travelling abroad, in Europe, North Africa and overseas. In July and August, the exhibition continues in the pedestrian walkway connecting Place de la Gare and the Bonnevoie district.
