Through « Les États intérieurs », sculptor Michel Rieb presents a series of clay portraits devoted to emotions and the silent movements of human beings. Inspired by charcoal work and the observation of facial expressions, the sculptures give form to doubt, introspection, self-burden, calling, as well as acceptance and soothing. Each face tells of an inner state and an emotion that everyone can recognise. The series features red and black patinas that enhance the contrasts, depth and expressive strength of the sculptures. An intimate and personal exhibition in which the face becomes a mirror of our emotions.
