At the origin, there is an image that gives birth to the intimacy of an emotion. Sourced from a book, a magazine, archives, or the internet, this image, or a fragment of it, moves the artist, disquiets them, secretly delves into their memories as far back as childhood, and makes them ponder what specifically in this vision questions them. In response, a drawing, a painting, an engraving, or sometimes a series of works is created, through which the artist appropriates what they have received and poetizes it by shifting it from the familiar to the strange.
