With Média Culpa (Éditions Calmann-Lévy), Plantu offers an introspective view on current events and the craft of editorial cartoons. The book covers topics such as secularism, Europe, environmental issues, and social networks. This event will feature an exhibition of drawings in the glass atrium of Luxembourg Station, organized in collaboration with CFL. Prior to the conference, workshops are conducted in schools, supported by the City of Luxembourg, among others. Jean Plantureux, known as Plantu, was born in 1951 in Paris. After two years of medical studies and training at the renowned art school Saint-Luc, he published his first cartoon in Le Monde in October 1972 about the Vietnam War. This began a regular collaboration with Le Monde, where he published close to 20,000 drawings over 40 years. Political cartoonist also for L’Express since 1991, Plantu has received numerous awards, such as “Prix Mumm” and the “Rare Document Prize” at the Angers Scoop Festival.
